BSF role in Nadabet 1971 Indo-Pak War History

Nadabet Nadabet pronounced by the name of Nada Bet in the eyes of locals. Bet here is a translation of the island. Narabet can be another name used for the identical place.

When Radcliff drawn the (infamous) historical line that split our nation in Pakistan and India in the name of the religion of both, Nadabet fell into Indian side. Pakistan is our new neighbor attempted to encroach onto Indian Territory through Nadabet in 1965. Border Security Force Border Security Force was raised on December 1st, following the Indo-Pak war of 1965 with Pakistan Prior to that, it was administered by police officers from the local area.

In 1971, the Indo-Pak war Border Security Forces (BSF) the first line of defence, were at the post and rather than it was the Indian Army. When the war was getting heated, it became obvious the Indian Army troop would take some time to reach the site and protect the post. The top BSF official at the time took his men to defend the Nadabet post until Indian Army would arrive.

Pakistani forces began moving out of Nagarparkar within their territory. BSF forces from India began marching toward Pakistan starting from Jaloya to Nadabet. It is believed that the Paggi community in the region are experts in the study of footprints of animals such as camels. Paggi individuals can precisely determine how much weight animals were carrying as well as the direction in which they were going and the distance they traveled back across the space. They knew the direction very well.

With their assistance, the BSF soldiers were capable of reaching Nadabet in just six hours. They were able to secure the border post until Indian Army arrived and finished the enemy in a matter of minutes.

Nadabet Border Post – Zero Point

Once you have reached the Nadabet T-junction, make sure to set the time for traveling to the international frontier for Seema Darshan. It's a goose bump moment that is kept for a lifetime, particularly for the patriotic Indians.

You must obtain special permission, along with a formal form of documentation and pay a small fee for the journey to zero point. It's a 25-km drive to get to the zero point located at the border at the T-junction. The road is lined with eight lay-bys that showcase artillery guns, tanks and an observation deck. You may want to stop to take the look, and also stop for a few minutes there.

At the zero point, you'll be able to be able to see Pakistan by the wires of barbed. But the border line isn't the barbed wire; it's located 150m away from the border between Pakistan and India. Between the barbed wires as well as the white markings on the actual border, is the"no man's land.

Both sides must talk to each other and agree on a fix timings to cross the zone of no-man's-land to ensure the stones are maintained at the border. The flag is raised at the zero point, and there are regular rituals of raising and dropping it on a tiny size. You can even schedule yourself during the evenings to observe the ceremony. The greatest thing about being here is that you're allowed to take unlimited photos.

The last but not least the kids play area as well as a refreshment center at zero.
